If you havent played Suikoden 2 and you are a fan of JRPGs then you need to get the game now.Ī disc is hard and expensive to find these days but its also available on PSN. The two first entries in the series were among the first and most beloved PS1 JRPGs and helped popularize the genre in North America. Why I dont think this will come out in the West When was the last time Konami localized a PSP game What is it about For me personally, Suikoden holds a very special place in my heart. Im absolutely willing to go through English text looking for mistakes but my level of Japanese is beginner and Im not a programmer. What I can do to help: Apart from expressing my eternal gratitude, not much sadly. It also saw a Vita sequel released in the west which is getting a good reception. The game also features some complex mechanics which makes it impossible to play without either extensive Japanese knowledge or a fan translation. Screenshots: Box Art: Japanese PS1 cover art, also featured on the PSP LE (I think its cooler than the regular PSP art): Videos. Popularity in Japan: Its a remake of a PS1 game seen as a cult classic and the PSP game had an opening week with 94k sales in Japan which is good for a JRPG. The sequel just came out on the Vita and I have been playing it non stop and its very addictive. These complex systems also makes the game very difficult to play without extensive Japanese knowledge. The game features gorgeous watercolour graphics, dungeons, combat with an interesting magic system, multiple classes, planning future generations and increasing their power, finding deities to bear your offspring, town building, time management and much more so it would be a shame if all of the western world would miss out on it. The only way to break the curse is to slay the demon who cast it upon you and its your job to breed and manage your offspring to be ready to combat him. The gods have taken pity on you and allow you to have offspring, sadly all bearing the same curse. What is it about The game is a Japanese RPG with many very unique elements. Sony aint gonna publish a Japanese PSP game at this point either. Why I dont think this will come out in the West The only publisher still working on PSP games (Gaijinworks) has stated that the Minimum Guarantee for the title is too high and it poses a too great risk.
